“As a Registered Professional Nurse with a Masters Degree, I am more than satisfied with the delivery of care to my mother. I feel the staff are very open to working with the nurse case manager from Hospice, making my parents bedroom a peaceful and supportive end of life home for my mother. I feel very comfortable living in New York City while Synergy provides the care in Tucson.” ~Marcia O., R.N. MSN New York, NY
Our Caregivers
To ensure the highest level of care for you or a loved one, Synergy HomeCare of Tucson has a strenuous selection process for choosing our caregivers, including multiple interviews, background checks, reference checks and drug screening. Once hired, all caregivers complete a comprehensive training program, and are CPR and First Aid certified, TB tested, bonded and insured.
“THANK YOU! for finding just the right combination of caregivers, Rudy and Rose, to assist Jimmie while I was away. As you are very much aware, I'm quite the ‘Nervous Nelly’ about Jimmie's care (obviously assuming that no one can take care of him as well as I can). During my much needed absence, he was in such competent hands that I never once got a telephone call from him indicating that something was going wrong. I checked in with him every day to let him know that he was in my thoughts and, although he indicated he was anxious for me to come home, he never complained about his care…. Everything worked out to both his and my complete satisfaction.” ~Nancy B., Saddlebrooke, AZ

“My passion for quality home care came from experiences that my family has had with home care services. There are some good home care companies out there and there are some that are not so good. At Synergy HomeCare in Tucson, we want to be exceptional.”
Lori Whitesell RN, MSN co-owner of Synergy HomeCare in Tucson, attended the University of Arizona, and began her nursing career in 1985. While working in a major level I trauma hospital, she served on the Ethics Committee, the Quality Committee, the Committee to Raise Professional and Community Awareness of Organ Donation, and was voted Nurse of the Year by the medical staff.
Over the last 21 years, her nursing experiences have included case management, hospital education, hospital management, and CPR instruction for patient families.
Ms. Whitesell has been a member of the Arizona Organization of Nurse Executives, opened and managed the only transitional intensive care unit in Arizona, and opened and directed two long-term acute care hospitals. She was the hospital representative to the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association’s Campaign for Caring, and participated in composing a white paper to the legislature regarding Arizona’s nursing shortage. Lori was a member of the S.E.P.S.I.S. Project Team (Strategies to Eliminate the Progression of Severe Irreversible Sepsis), where she coordinated the research, data collection, and creation of Banner Health System’s first clinical pathway for septic patients. Ms. Whitesell is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Lori has had personal experience with trying to find quality caregivers for her elderly grandmother. “The difficulty of finding reliable, caring, well-trained caregivers took a toll on my family that lasted several years, resulting in my grandmother having to leave her home in order to receive the personal care she required.” Lori’s desire is to use her diverse nursing experience to create a home care service in Tucson and surrounding areas that provides quality, compassionate care to those in need in the Pima county community, allowing them to remain independent in their homes for as long as possible. “Caring is our passion. We’ve taken what we do best from the hospital to the client’s homes. As they say, there’s no better place to be.”
“Wanting only the best for the clients I serve, I am very particular about the service providers I use. For this reason Synergy is always my first choice. Time and time again, the Synergy staff has demonstrated the utmost in professionalism, compassion, and reliability. In times of crisis, they have always come through for me and the client. I cannot speak highly enough about Synergy. They are the best.” ~Sherri S., MSSA Geriatric Care Manager
